The Jose Cuervo Pro Beach Volleyball Series has officially announced that the Florida Open’s prize purse will increase to $100,000!
Anxiously waiting for Memorial Day weekend to arrive, IMG and Jose Cuervo couldn’t be more excited to let the players and fans know that the prize purse increase for the first 2012 Jose Cuervo Pro Beach Volleyball Series tournament is official. The Cuervo Series, already the highest paying tour in the U.S., will now kick off the seven-event series with a bump in prize money creating even more anticipation for the upcoming weekend in Ft. Lauderdale!
“We are so eager for the start of the Jose Cuervo Pro Beach Volleyball Series’ second season that we decided to increase the prize purse to $100,000 for the first event. We are more than ready for the Florida Open and hope all the players and fans are just as excited as we are,” says James Leitz, SVP of IMG Action Sports, owner and operator of the Jose Cuervo Pro Beach Volleyball Series.
The Florida Open, all part of the Jose Cuervo Pro Beach Volleyball Series, will kick off in sunny Ft. Lauderdale over Memorial Day weekend. The event will showcase elite pro beach volleyball talent who compete for $100,000 and will be filmed for NBC Sports Network.
IMG and Jose Cuervo will build a world-class, purpose-built stadium along one of the most popular beaches in Southern Florida. Fans 21+ are welcome to participate in Cuervo Village which will include a rock wall, mechanical lime bull and other activities building a beach lifestyle festival as a backdrop for the Florida Open.
